Product Notes

Dr Tom Gilligan is a registered psychologist living on Salt Spring Island in British Columbia. For more than twenty five years he has been helping people with emotional distress and physical health problems including cancer and chronic pain. His calm voice, the structure of his images and language are designed to reach the deeper part of the mind to reduce stress and stimulate the natural healing function of the immune system. Every idea, thought and belief has the potential to influence and change the balance between physical, neurological and hormonal systems in the body. Scientific research is now proving that guided imagery and visualization can improve the body's natural capacity to heal, reduce stress and provide many other health benefits. The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine (NCCAM), the main US Federal Government agency for scientific research on complementary health care systems, says that mind-body approaches have potential benefits and advantages in the treatment of many illnesses including cancer .The music and language of this CD have been carefully designed to create a labyrinth of sound to guide the listener into a state of deep relaxation, releasing tension and stimulating the natural healing function of the immune system.
