Description
The cartoon caricatures Murdoc, 2D, Noodle and Russel are a little crazy, to say the least. The music group Gorillaz have mixed genres together like the blend of colours their Tank Girl-inspired videos are inspired by. The alternative, hip-hop rock music is woven together by the UK band Blur’s Damon Albarn. Their first two albums have sold 12 million copies, and set the bar of expectations for the next.
Their delivery of ‘Plastic Beach’ does not disappoint, ageing the wild band a little, having a five year break from their last release, and collaborating with an incredible cast of musicians. With vocal appearances by Snoop Dogg, Mos Def, Lou Reed and others, there are just as many curious sounds that’ll add to the group’s already mesmerizing repertoire of rock, electricity and hip-hop. These tracks have an upgraded version of contemporary pop music, without the risk of cheapening the Gorillaz to a second-rate group.
